So it is finally time for me to add something to our travel blog.. my excuse is that Brian is better than me at it ... here goes.... We travelled to Cat Ba Island, one of the largest islands on Halong Bay, from here we hoped to organise a tour around the bay. The journey should have taken about 3hours by road and a further 35km from the port to the island by boat..... somehow we went slightly wrong with the boat part and ended up on a touring boat which docked...

We've been in Vietnam now for 4 days and are trying to get used to the change from Thailand. The biggest change is the huge amount of motorbikes on the roads, well some stick to the roads and some use the footpath. There are very little road rules, with some cross roads being a complete free for all, people driving on all sides (supposed to be the right) and big things give way to little.
