So we´ve arrived at our final destination. We´ve got 5 days to soak up as much as we can and then we´re back to grey Northern Ireland and Scotland, thanks for reading our blog and all the comments/emails. A cracking island, no roads or cars, very carribean and chilled. We spent our first day treking to the other side of the island where we found a few beautiful beaches, and ended on Lopes Mendes beach. Completely unspoilt, with great waves. Paraty is a beautiful Portugese colonial town. We went on an organised tour to Trindade beach then onto some waterfalls. The first was a huge rock which we attempted to surf down. The next was a 10m jump into a pool. Colin, myself and Maria did it. Very scary but so glad we threw ourselves into it. After that we headed off to a Cashasa ditillery for some free samples. We arrived around 7am, hoping we might get a quick sleep after travelling in a very uncomfortable bus. The journey across the border was with mixed feelings. We were all very keen to get to a country which is "developed" and to travel on smooth roads and have toilets where you can put your paper down the loo. (The sewers in Bolivia can´t handle it).
