Summary
Slovenia was a huge surprise to us, in particular the area around Bled, Lake Bohinj, Vintgar Gorge and the Julian Alps. The scenery here is incredibly beautiful and we had some awesome weather at Bohinj that made for an awesome day hiking into the hills. Bled was also impressive but a little bit touristy for our liking. The world championship rowing titles were also being held here in a couple of days so it was probably a little busier than usual. We then drove basically out of the country towards Hungary. The area up near the border was equally as beautiful with rolling hills, green meadows and fresh flowers but no where as near as dramatic as the Julian Alps.
We only spent 5 days here and travelled about 600 km's and after a quick oil change near the Croatian border, Hugo is running as well as ever. The Julian Alps is a definite return destination, maybe in the winter for some snowboarding.
Speedometer: 151, 347 km's
