Day 25

We woke full of plans to spend the day at the beach near Camp Richardson but after eating breakfast we decided that we would do a short hike from the campsite to Fallen Leaf Lake first as it was on our doorstep. When we saw the lake we decided that we would just like to stay for the day as it was so relaxing, Chris walked back to the RV and grabbed some towels, drinks, chairs and fishing rod before returning to a nice spot Mum and I found right by the edge of the lake. Chris showed me how to cast a fishing rod and we fished in the lake for a bit while Mum chilled out on the beach. We stayed at the lake shore all day, returning to the RV via a small man made dam where we stopped and caught crabs using line and hot dog sausages!? This evening we drove to an Irish Bar & Grill (there's one every place you go!) where we ate good old fashioned shepherd's pie and roast beef dinners. We saw on the news this evening that the East Coast of America has been battered with high winds and floods, luckily it will not affect us on the final leg of our journey from here down towards San Francisco tomorrow.
