Delirium struck hard around 1am. Best intentions had us all plan to stay up for the night and sleep the day's flight away. Emerson was the only one to crash before our 3am pickup, the surreal result only further loosened our collective grip on civility - imagine the state of things if Emerson is closest thing to adult supervision that we could manage?
I'd figured our 6am flight would mean we could avoid a days worth of schedule problems and get away on time. Unfortunately the plane had cold feet, icy wings had us stuck on the Tarmac for nearly 1.5hrs. Sydney Airport isn't equipped for such exotic problems, so their only solution was to wait for the sun to come up and melt it away :(
The a380 is so well decked out there is almost nothing that could ruin it. We found out that a family experimenting with controlled crying does take the shine off somewhat. The whole flight to Dubai the kid wanted something it wasn't going to get from it's parents, good on them for not letting civil respect get in their way!
Shattered we arrive in Munich, Emerson bursts into tears because of "the smell" - appears it's only detectable by a sleep be priced 8yo brain. What she would make of the clove cigarettes in Denpasar?
Joy flooded over me as I saw my first Fraziskaner sign hanging outside a bar, and another, etc. all of which were closed :( I won't have that problem tomorrow, Franziskaner brewery tour starts at 10am!
