Gab has thoroughly excelled herself here. We wake up to a pile of gifts that have assembled themselves overnight at the foot of Boo's bed. Boo drags out the reveal longer than Matt Preston savoring a mouthful. Eventually, the festival begins and she starts unwrapping, she's oohing and ahhing through all of them.
Sadly no Mickey waffles to be had at the TDH Breakfast Buffet, later on, I'll find a waffle iron and claim this failure as the clincher for why I should be allowed to buy it. For now, though it's cold eggs and lukewarm sausages, we'll skip the breakfast buffet after this. Park time!
Almost on queue, Mickey & Minnie come out just as we enter the park, I pretended I organised it, but the 11 year old hears so much of this kind of pap from me she smirks and dismisses me :( She decides we'll do the new Monsters Inc ride first, then Star Tours, she loves them both. Being a nice sister she decides we can do the Stitch Experience next, we have no expectations but a cast member warns us it's in Japanese only on the way in. Very impressive real-time animation.
She still has her Belle gown on, but that itchy chiffon isn't going to last the morning so it's castle time for a few photos. Well that was the plan, unfortunately there are half a dozen shops between Tomorrowland and the Castle and we have to explore all of them. As the girls lead us into the door of the 5th store I decide to check out the drink options. AHHH IT'S A DRY PARK!
A few photos in front of the Castle then we're into Fantasyland. Her first choice is the Tea Cups, Max gets a wicked smile on his face and suggests we all go together. He's trying to make the cup spin before the ride even starts - he knows more about momentum than Gab was able to conjure on the bike. Once the ride starts we discover someone's been working on upper body strength, I'm fighting to keep my neck straight, Gab solved the problem by leaning into it, with head bowed her face starts to go pale, Fid & Boo and cackling like wicked witches. My middle ear was screaming confusion once I stood on solid ground again.
Five years ago today we got to spend her birthday in the Orlando Magic Kingdom with the McGrath girls. As we're stepping off the tea cups the beautiful McGrath clan passes under the castle arches, tah-dah! Hugs and some Tokyo tips, then it's back to the rides. Our fast pass for Toy-Story is up so we leave them for a little while.
Since that time 5 years ago I've been the Toy-Story ride master, easily blitzing all three of my opponents. But since our last ride someone has been using their Saturday morning gaming time to perfect their aim - fid annihilated me! We swapped the McGrath girls for the new Toy-story victor and took them to toon-town while the others got their spook on in the Haunted house. Having warmed them up on the kiddy coaster it was time for Space Mountain.
Lunch and Splash mountain filled the rest of the afternoon before we setup camp in the bakery across from the castle to watch the electric light parade. Crackers then the castle light show filled the rest of the night before the Girls hit the shops lining the exit.
Just over 23k steps for a birthday in the happiest place on earth has everyone mixing smiles and yawns as we get back to the princess suite. To bed, tomorrow we check out Disney Sea.
