Up very late this morning, there is a world of jet lag coming next week :( California Adventure is mostly bits of other parks we've seen before, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, plus the Pier which is mostly unique to this park. Had a ball!
We hadn't been on Monsters Inc before, kids loved it and wanted to get straight back on. They loved the Bugs Life land - they both dig bumper cars and spinning cups for some reason. Heading around to the pier you can see the new "Cars Land" being built in the background - this is going to be awesome by the looks of things. I've forgotten the name of the valley where Cars is set, but they've built a life size set of the valley you can see over the hoarding. We'll need to come back one day to see it :(
At lunch Emerson is bursting to get herself some Fanta. I make a stupid deal with her, on a scale I thought she would never attempt - 15 of my edamame soy beans, for a sip of Fanta. She doesn't baulk, Gab shells the beans out for her, she stuffs them in and starts chomping. I didn't expect it to go this way, but once she put them in you know there was only one way it was going to end, pass the napkin.
Screaming is their rollercoaster on the pier, fantastic ride - nothing too scary, but great high and a bit of speed. We jumpe Midway Mayhem to come back to it later and got on the queue for the Ferris Wheel. Now Emerson had already said she didn't want to go on it, but changed her mind as we queued up. 15 minutes later we're getting on board when everone but me starts to feel scared of the swing gondallas. So these gondallas are on tracks that run from the inner to outer round of the ferris wheel, they run along these tracks swinging back and forth with gravity. By the top of the wheel they're all freaking out, by the time we hit the bottom again someone has started pouring hot steel onto Emerson's bare hands, or so it sounded. Gab shouts at the staff to let us off. They stop and reverse the ride so we can exit, she really is only 6.
We fast pass Goofy's flight school and head back to Midway Mayhem, the wait at Hollywood Studios was up to 2 hours, here it's a 20 minutes stroll before we get on. I can't get higher that 189500 I set in Hollywood studios, Emerson on the other hand has lifted herself from 14000 to 58000 this round.
Goofy's Flight School is a fun kid coaster that gets Max laughing and Emerson petrified until the end, then laughing. Some good pics of this ride. Next Max and I hit the river rapids, no time like 5pm on a brisk windy day to get wet! The kid next to me is very proud to have brought an umbrella. It's actually a very good idea for him, the rest of us are guarding our faces. Eventually they stop the ride and make him put it away. You can't get as wet in this as you do in the Universal equivalent, but Max and I have a ball and Gab gets some awesome shots of us from the sidelines.
Dinner in Ariel's grotto was unremarkable, but it came with VIP seating for the World of colour show. This is a water jet/light/projection show a little like Fantasmic but without any real people. I've definatley had too much Disney, I'm welling up at all the right places, can sing every song, I think they chipped me on the boat.
Tomorrow is our last day in Disneyland, and on the whole trip :( We have breakfast with Minnie then a day in Disneyland before a red eye home. Musn't think about that now though, sleep!
