We spent two days in Nice, France. We wanted to pick somewhere in the south of France to break up the train ride from Italy to Barcelona. The train ride is absolutely amazing, town after town, each unique, on the ocean. Beautiful scenery. Nice is kind of like Florida with a French flair. Casino´s and cafe´s line the boardwalk on the beach. Again, only washed rocks for a beach though. They had designated areas that they had dumped sand for people to lay on. I guess a lot of the mediterranean is like that.
We lucked out the first night because we found a pub that showed the Gator vs. Alabama game. Watching Gator Football, drinking German Beer at an Irish Pub in the French Riviera, it doesn´t get any better than that. There were two other people their who just graduated from Gainesville and were going on a bus-a-bout around Europe for two months, just like us. A ´bus a bout´ is an Aussie thing where you pay a fixed price and can hop on and off busses that tour all around Europe as well as stay at designated hostels. It´s pretty popular, we´ve met a lot of Aussie´s here that are all doing the same thing.
The next Sunday, Lindsay got her little piece of heaven when we were walking around Nice and ran into the Sunday fresh market. People yelling selling produce, trinkets, meats, condiments, and anything else you can eat or cook with. Busy place.
Again, more great meals, although a little too exotic for Lindsay. She likes her food to be shelled and skined before she will eat it. On to Barcelona for four days. Stay Classy USA!!!
