Early start today as we had to get to the airport for our flight to Detroit. It was snowing when we left New York. We arrived at Detroit on time at 1pm. Grabbed the hire car, a Chevy Equinox SUV. So far i consider that we have been very lucky with the weather. Yes very cold, but beautifull blue sky. Yesterday we went to the Statue of Liberty. We are one of the lucky ones to have booked far enough in advance to be able to climb to the top of the Statue. This was amazing. Priority check in and jumped the queue all the way. Arrived in New York today. We were a little concerned with the heightened security levels, so we arrived at CDG at around 7am. Our flight was not departing till 11.30. Expecting lenghty delays with checkin and body searches, so were amazed that by 7.30 we had cleared all security. How boring the wait was. The flight took 8 hours and passed very quickly.
