Wednesday 10th July- long bus trip today thru Middle Atlas Mountains - 350 kms along the plains then steep climb up to 3000 metres. The French influence is evident in architecture higher up- chalet style with many ski resorts for winter. Passed thru Imozee - means waterfalls - water flows off mountains. Coffee at Ifrane - cute Swiss style village. Passed thru forests of cedar, oak and carob - also some juniper. Lunch at a farm - salads and tajines - very yummy. Thru Khenifra where Arab horses are trained to perform. Arrived at our guest house L’eau Vivre around 7.30 a looooong day. Guest house looks down on a river - lovely setting - very near Bine el Ouidane dam. This dam is fed by 2 rivers. Built by the French 1953 - the French installed a great deal of infrastructure- to ensure they could access as much phosphate, gold and much more during their occupation from 1907 to 1956.
