Sunday 9th September - Only about 1 1/2 hours from Mudgee to a lovely spot at Goulburn River National Park - Big River camping area. It was about 20 km of dirt from Woollar and just gorgeous. A few noisy day picnickers but once they left - ah - so peaceful!!
The next day we knew we had a pretty big driving day to get to where Karen and Phil were camped at Point Plomer (between Crescent Head and Port Macquarie in Limeburners National Park) but it didn't stop us doing a little sightseeing, bushwalking and taking those quiet secondary roads that we seem to specialise in. We left Big River at around 8.00 am and arrived at Point Plomer at around 4.30 pm - just in time for happy hour. Well, the next few days were spent lazing around the campsite and wandering along the beach. We spotted dolphins and even whales breaching in our little bay. Pretty spectacular! Karen and Phil claim to have seen a sea turtle but I'm not sure what time of day that was - if it was near happy hour it could be questionable - ha ha - nah, I believed them. Lance arrived on the Wednesday 12th to join us. On the Thursday afternoon, a HUGE southerly blew in disturbing the entire campground. Tents, chairs, clothes, people, were scattered all over. Friday 14th we packed up in blue skies and a gentle breeze and headed south to Mungo Brush on the Myall Lakes. We took the entrance from Bulahdelah which turned to a dirt road and a very short ferry crossing ($5 per car) and passed some lovely campsites before we settled at Mungo Brush - really nice right on the lake. Lovely sunsets. We did a rainforest walk which was supposed to be 1.9 km return trip but we ended up coming back a different way along the beach and turned into a much longer walk. It was lovely though but we did get a little lost. Had to send Phil up the sandhills to scout for the proper path. Thanks Phil. Unfortunately the Ientiles had to leave us Saturday morning after our walk so it's just us with Lance again. Only one week left of our fantastic journey.

Karen & Phil We had a great time joining up with you on the coast! But, next time DB says "Who wants to walk back along the beach?" I'm picking the track that tells you how far it is! :-)
