Well it was so nice here we stayed for an extra couple of days. The weather perfect. We have now had 4 weeks with only one day partially cloudy. The rest absolutely fabulous. Wall to wall sunshine temps around the low 20's degrees c nominally. As Susie mentioned previously this caravan park has the best location/view ever (and a brand new shower block which helps) all for $35 per night. You could not find better even if you paid 20 times that per night. The whales startle you at night splashing around in the bay. The is this noise like your open hand hitting water (if you know what I mean) TWACK as another one breaches. If you look out to the ocean some days its like a ballet with one every few minutes, often 2 at once. Its enough to make a Japansese fishmonger a dribbling wreck
The town has most of the things you need. The beaches are great. Lots of walking tracks with superb views. A bit of history with the old Trial Bay Jail. Cheap beer and a good feed at the surf club
Local towns such as Hat Head, Crescent Head (cover photo) and the lighthouse at Smokey Cape with thier vistas which are spectacular
We will be sad to move on to Patonga tomorrow even though it is nice there too (we used to camp there quite a bit when we lived at Gosford) and we are looking forward to catching up with family and some old mates before the long trek back south on Friday and Saturday
