Late afternoon and time for lunch and Roger takes a tumble over a bollard only to be surrounded by a crowd obviously thinking he is part of the entertainment! After being declared fine by a first aider we headed off for Burgers and Beers and the bus back to Bob.

After waking late we headed North through the rain - luckily everyone was so tired that what could have been a painful drive was actually a fairly relaxed day!

A very long day today.... An early start to get to the "I am Team GB" event at Gateshead International Stadium by 8.30. Loads of fun trying lots of different sports, meeting Olympians and even doing a tresure trail which we won- a free swim in Gateshead before the end of October! Then off to Bishop Auckland and Kynren - a stunning portrayal of the history of England. Very impressed with everyone tonight as it was a 2.5 mile walk to the showground and 2.5 miles...

Fab day immersed in Roman history as we visited Chester's Roman Fort and did brass rubbing and an archaeological dig as well as dressing up as Roman soldiers, then on to Housesteads roman fort and a walk along Hadrian's wall.

Today was amazing! today was a day i will always remember. Today was full of lots of fun and new things to learn. This place was full of lots of historic memories. we went to the poor village, which the miners and there families lived in. we went in the mine. There was a mine, a school, a village hall and even a church. we also went to the posh town where we had tea and cake plus we managed to convince dad to buying us some sweets. i got sherbert lemons. we were ...
