Lovely cycle from the flight of locks to Gairlochy and back along the Caledonian Canal with views over the mountains but unfortunately little Daniel was a bit under the weather and so the 15 miles (in the wind and rain on the way back) was a bit too much and so he had to be coaxed back with a jar of marmalade like a little Paddington Bear. Treated ourselves to dinner at the lovely campsite restaurant as reward!

Fab day - headed up in the cable car first thing to enjoy a walk on Aonach Mor to see a glimpse of Ben Nevis and beautiful views down over Fort William. Yummy hot chocolate at the top then we got the bikes out and hit the mountain biking paths which were a lot trickier than we first thought and both adults came a cropper in the 'skills area'!

We all agreed to have a day in Bob today writing up the Loch Ness reports, settling into our lovely Glen Nevis campsite and gathering information for the next few days.

We awoke to a stunning sunrise this morning and another beautiful drive to Loch Ness where we hit the Loch Ness exhibition at Drumnadrochit to decide for ourselves whether there was a monster in the lake.... Having decided there was no monster we headed to Fort Augustus to see the loch and the Caledonian Canal and we were ambushed by Nessies! Then headed on to Glen Nevis and our campsite for the next few nights.

Gorgeous morning for a pony trek over the hills for M&D with us following along behind, then into Portree for lunch and on to Broadford for a lovely coastal walk with views across to the mainland and the tiny islands off-shore.
