hey,

so after the first wet day in phuket it has sorted itself out now and the sun showed itself today. We decided to get a day trip to phi phi (group of small islands off krabi) which meant getting up at 6am! not something any of us fancied but it was definatley worth it. The view from the boat was amazing and took us into the bay where the film 'the beach' was filmed, bit of a shame us tourists seem to be making these islands turn more and more commercial with big hotels popping up all over the place. Still, i haven't seen scenery like it before, jagged cliff edges covered on top with green (will upload photos soon). we then headed to a bay nicknamed monkey bay to go for a snorkel, the water was warm and there were plenty of tropical fish kicking about. once we got in far enough to the cliffs you could feed the monkeys bread and bananas hanging off the cliff edge! far from the rainy days just a couple of days ago, today was boiling and myself and hagan have got a little burnt!! quinny's factor 40 has paid off :)

We met a nice american girl on phi phi who's last day it was before returning to the us to start as a lawyer and exchanged differences in high schooling in britain vs us and explained the North South divide to her lol.

Tomorrow we may hang around phuket or bite the bullet and head over to the south east of thailand to the island of ko samui (famous for it full moon partys), but i dont think we'll be there to catch one unfortunately as we just missed the one on the 28th...

Bobs

Yes Bobs is right the islands are lovely and so is Patong beach...... by day! at night the place turns into a seedy town. Put it this way if you was an old geezer lookin for a young thai bride this is number one on your destination list! just goin down the main street at night is an eye opener! bars lined up with young girls dancing on bars and poles in very skimpy little outfits. We are treatin it as all good fun but in no doubt theres a seedy side to their antics. We went to one bar where loads of girls were dancin on the bar in school girls outfits and very short skirts! Suddenly they just come over talkin to you sayin how much they like you, kissin you on the cheek, and sayin what they would like to do with you!! (in their words boom boom! lol) also like touching your legs and strocking you especially one who seamed to have a featish for nipples? if you thought thats a bit strange then the toilets are down right ridiculous. You walk in and three guys are there puttin a wet towel round your neck as soon as you finish the three grab you and start doin massage moves on you like cracking your back and neck and doing things to your elbows, it took me by surprise a little bit. The girls are all over the place! we watched from our balacony seein them in all come in together in the shortest skirts and shorts i think i've ever seen! The place is also full of older white guys (in no doubt what there after!) all in all its pretty funny to experience if you look at it in that way but in reality its a town full of young thai prostitutes and old white guys after some action! lol

Headin east to Koh Samui tommorow and that probably from where the next installment of adventures will be!
