The picture to accompany this blog has nothing to do at all with the place we are in, Hat Yai. Anyways its been about a week since the last blog and that week was spent just on Koh Samui! For the first few days we just relaxed as travelling around for 2 weeks solid took its toll. for the next few we hired mopeds and toured the island, which was fun although a little scary as Bobby likes to drive at what seams a ridiculous speed, and weaving through traffic is pretty scary! I decided that i would probably die if i drove one so Dave stepped up and drove another one. But he was pretty much a pro after 10 minutes (all that downhill mountain biking paid off!). We did trek up to the waterfalls to have a look. It was pretty steep goin in up and very hot and sweaty but it was worth it to get to dip in the cold water of the falls. However coming down was a bit hairy for Bobby and myself as flip flops werent the best of options! For the rest of the time we just stayed around Lamai beach which was nice, and ventured out once in a while to other towns. On our last day round the world group number 2 caught up with us after going to Phuket and Koh Phi Phi. It was nice to see them and would have been good to spend a few days with them, but we were gettin a little fed up with the island as there was nothing else to do, so felt we had to move on. So we are now in Hat Yai, which was an absolute mission to get (taxi to port, ferry to mainland, bus to town, minibus to Hat Yai, pretty much 10 hour trip!). Hat Yai seams ok but we are probably some of the few tourist around here. The place doesnt have much to do but acts as a transfer from thailand to Malaysia and vice versa. We have booked are train ticket, which sets off in bout an hour (2.50pm) and is overnight, arriving in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow morning! we arent all in the same room either two are in sleeping (seperate rooms) and one wont have a bed at all, just a seat! we havent discussed who is going where but it pretty much sounds like the scariest thing we are ever going to do! lol. I could be wrong and it could turn out brilliant, but somehow i dont think this will happen! So hopefully will write the next part of the blog from somewhere in Malaysia, if we make it on the train! lol
