Hello all! Well we survived the train journey. Infact it was ok. I ended up takin the seat but it was ok as there was nobody in the seatin section for the night really! However nobody got really any sleep and it felt like i had only got about 2 hours on and off! Anyways it was Bobby's birthday so we decided to push through the tirdness and straight into town to have an explore. Kuala Lumpur is a pretty nice city. Much nicer than the ones in Thailand. It is pretty easy to get around as the transport systems are really good! to be honest there is not to much to do in KL and we pretty much did it all in a day. We went to the petronas towers and went up the KL tower communications tower to get a good view over the city. Apart from this there isnt much more to see. so we headed back and out on town! For Bobby's birthday we went for a lovely local Malay meal of Nandos! which is conviently situated on the street we are staying on! After this we decided to go into the city to find somewhere to have a drink. We decided upon a bar called the beach which was reccommended by lonely planet as a good place to visit! it was a little pricey on the drinks but the entertainment was priceless! to start with as with many bars in the far east they are frequented by girls looking for men, however these seam to have their money heads screwed on as the pretty much left us poor students alone and went for travelling business men! Things started to pick up when i visited the toilet to come out to find a massive fella sticking a wig on in the bathroom mirror! Dave also experienced this and actually got talking to her/him? Turns out her/his name is Sonia! At this point we where wonderin why we couldnt see them around the bar until about four of them got on stage and started miming to many a classic such as Raining Men and many from the Cher/Madonna back catalogue! it was absolutely ridicolous! However it was pretty enjoyable. We pretty much ended the night early as we had been up so long! Today we just saw some of the older sites such as the main square and sorted our transport out to go inland. We also visited a rather large shopping centre! by large i mean about 12 stories, hotel, two cinemas and a theme park all within the centre, which was pretty mad! Probably gonna take it easy tonight and head off tomorrow for Jeratut and Taman Negara.
