Off to Darwin this evening, so it's pack the bags, into the 4x4 and head to Cairns. Things have changed from the backpacker mecca and mudflats that Dad witnessed 20 years ago. Although not a lot!! Our first ever MacDonalds was on the agenda today... 'it was ok' was the summary, so no worries on the obesity front just yet!! The 'front' at Darwin is now an Esplanade with sea water, fountains, bands and sunbathing lounges.. Cool.. Although can't imagine it catch...

We went to the Port Douglas Wildlife Habitat for 'Breakfast with the Birds'.. All sorts of birds flying around our croissants, bacon and Coco Pops... Then a load of different animals .. Crocs, Cassowaries, wallabies which we fed, see the pic) kangaroos, lizards of all shapes and sizes, koalas and more.. Dinner at the harbour..Barramundi making another appearance on the menu..

Felix road for ages (sans stabilizers) along Four Mile beach in Port Douglas. He ended the day with B&C washed down with Chocolate milkshake .. Highlights thus far... Felix... Eating Tim-Tams!! Oscar.. Snorkeling on the GBR!! Dad... Ditto with Oscar & Felix on 4 mile beach.. Mum... Crocodile far, eating B&C, seeing a turtle and the boys hugging a koala..... (yes, I did ask for THE highlight) :)

We chilled again today.... Oscar went swimming for ages and ended up eating the fave food of our trip thus far .. Barramundi & chips!!

One of the modern seven wonders of the world was today's adventure.. A Quicksilver waverunner to the Low Isles was followed by snorkeling where Oscar and I saw Green turtles, Nemo, giant Clam, yellow tang and many more coral fauna. The coral was stunning.. Felix & Mum did the same on a glass bottomed boat.. Long knackerung day BUT worth the effort...
