Wednesday, July 30th Departure: Benbow Lake, California Arrival: Beverly's Beach, Oregon Today was a driving day. But we did want to end at a reasonable time to have a yummy dinner and good last night of camping for our trip. The roads were not as windy today which was good. Select views rather than constantly being on the edge. We stopped for lunch at Harris Beach which is just past Brookings Oregon. Our quick lunch break turned into us playing on the beach and climbing the rocks to stay out of the huge waves. People were friendly and so were the seagulls who wanted our wraps. There were many ladies with their easels painting the seashore. Lots of motorcycles on the roads but the best vehicle on today's journey was a car covered in dinosaurs.WE came across a small building on the side of the road selling firewood. Huge bundles for 5,10,20 dollars it was the best deal we had ever seen. So we stopped and picked out what we wanted and then as the instructions said sloted our money under the garage door of the building because no one was there. Good for a giggle.It was a pretty quiet drive most of the day until we came across this section of road that was filled with world famous ....you name it. But what made Bryce really jump out of his pants and the car.! Was A giant blue Ox named Babe. Apparently this is a childhood memory and we had to take pictures of us under it. It was a great break from the car though. Our Campground was very close to the beach but in a wooded area with creeks going thru it. We found it a lovely place to camp even with very entertaining our neighbors. Could they be louder, could they be more rude to one another, could they be non campers. OH yes! You don't wanna know how many times their cell phone rang. A fabulous last dinner cooked over the fire. A bike ride to the beach where the sun had just set. Some tea and smores around the fire even with our neighbors running around with toy guns. It was a great last evening of camping. We would really like to do another camping trip where we stay for a few nights in the same place and explore the area. Beverly's BEach was a great experience for the last night of our trip.
