Departure: Las Vegas, NEVADA
Arrival: Yosemite National Park, CALIFORNIA
After living up vegas for two days we started are day early. AS the drive from Las Vegas to San Fran is rather long well a whole days worth. AS we started driving we decided to change our plans slightly and not go directly to San Francisco. We didn't feel like driving on the highway all day so we took some ideas of friends. Those ideas were a place called Death Valley. This is quite possibly the most freakiest experience we have had thus far. The place has nothing in it and you can't help but think that you are gonna die... its just a matter of time.. and there is no way out. So it seems. Must tell more in person because there is much more to our personal trip thru the desert of death valley. a story that includes the gas light coming on. Oh man!
With hearts at rest we did make it to our new destination which was Yosemite National PArk 3 hours from San Francisco and just a nice scene away from vegas. Although a little surprise is the intense smoke from a fire burning just outside the west side of the park. So we can see the park surrounding the road but other than that we really have no idea what it looks like. And again we ran into signs saying campgrounds were full and the visitor centre even told us in person that there were under 8 sites available in the entire park. mmm NO! we went out searching anyway and found that it was not busy at all. Tons of sites. A real shame for people who don't go a nd look.
Anyway, it seems like a beautiful park closer to a bc park that we have seen so far. Rivers thru meadows and forest surrounding it all. But then these incredible rocks that come out of nowhere. You can hike these huge rocks as well.
We will head to San Fran tomorrow.
