Bryan and Anna's Excellent Adventure
Gutentag!
Well, I can barely spell in English, so dont get mad at me for German. We made it out of the Czech Republic, barely.... We stopped in Breclav and they did not have the advertised connecting train, so we waited for about 2 hours in the middle of no where. From what I hear, it is a good thing I hadnt seen the movie Hostel before we left.
Anyways, we made it to Vienna, and wow what a city. The streets are completely clean, and the buildings are huge. All of the buildings look so official with giant marble statues and everything. Last night we walked to the huge St Stephens cathedral, and it was 5 minutes before a string quartet (plus Clarinet) played Mozart right in the cathedral! It took about 10 seconds to discuss, then we realized it was once in a lifetime, so we did it. I will just say the accustics were great and we felt much more sophisticated after we left.
Today we dropped off our bags at the train station (after saying the night in a great 500 sqft apartment for 28 euros each) and got a 24 hour Ubahn ticket and went out on the town. We saw the giant ferris wheel, and church again, and the Wein Museum. Now we just have to get a bite to eat at the film festival nearby, grab a few bottles of wine and get on our night train to Venice.
Ciao!
Bryan and Anna
