Kuala Lumpur to Krabi
We got the flight around 12pm from Kuala Lumpur having lugged our backpacks on the monorail and then taking a bus to the airport. It was such a nice flight in terms of the length, it was only 1 hour 20mins and then we were landing again. Plus we had the pick of the seats as the flight wasn't even half full!
We collected our luggage and took another bus to Ao Nang, Krabi. Caz and I left Mel with all the bags and went off in search of accommodation. We were starting to worry as every guesthouse seemed to be full or very expensive. I realised just what a tourist resort this area is, with everything being a lot more expensive. We were grateful to find a room for 800baht in the Dream Garden Guesthouse which was actually quite nice!
After collecting Mel and dropping the bags off in the room we went out to explore and get some tea. We found a lovely restaurant called Changaya which was full of exotic plants and lanterns creating a pretty atmosphere. I had ordered spring rolls as a main meal expecting it to be a generous serving as in other places so I was left feling hungry when they served only 2 small rolls!
After tea we had a wander down the main road towards the beach front which was lined with shops selling everything imaginable. I was particularly interested in the painting shops where artisits were at work and loved all the buddha work, giving me inspiration for when I come home!
There was a McDonalds just across the road from our geusthouse, not the reason for us staying there! We couldn't resist getting a McFlurry and walking home!
