We have moved from Karon to Patong Beach on the Island of Phuket today as Karon was too boring.
Patong is like a made Southend on Sea, very busy and very commercial but still smelly and dirty. Just can't get away from the filth unfortunately.
We are trying our best to enjoy ourselves at the moment as we have hardly relaxed as everywhere we go it is so busy. We are researching ouor next stop which we hope will kick start our relaxing period. Looking at Phi Phi island.
Today is the first day that we haven't felt the need to sleep this afternoon, which we are glad about, as this means that the jet lag is waring off.
Started the day off early today with a visit to Starbucks for breakfast. Food here is s***e and unappetising so it was nice to enjoy some 'Proper' food and a lovely coffee. I think we may be missing the comforts of home already and we have only been away a week.
I threw myself into some adventure today with a Parasail from a speedboat and a JetSki ride too, felt just like James Bond, great fun. Those things are so damn fast!
Heading to a Jazz bar tonight for some entertainment and to stay off the streets. Getting fed up off every taxi driver hassling us for a cab ride with the usual 'Tuk Tuk' call. I think we have been offered everything from T-Shirts and Jeans to Seafood and dodgy DVDs. You can buy anything here and I mean ANYTHING! Markets are full of crap. I iindulged in a nice Breitling watch, 500 TBHT off a market stall, looks great. Worth every penny of that 5 Quid ;-)
Anyway, although we are not overly impressed with Thailand at the moment, we know we are still in the commercial areas (not that there are many non-commercial areas left) but we hope to find some less populated areas soon, we still believe we can start to enjoy ourselves a bit more now that the jet lag has worn off.
I will be taking some more photo's soon, haven't been taking many as hard to keep camera on me when swimming ;-)
Please feel free to send us messages via the message board as it is nice to read stuff from you all. Makes us feel that there is still someone out there that cares :-(
Speak soon and take care,
James
