Just booked our bus ticket and will be making a move from cairns on Wednesday. Not too sure where will be our first stop. Will be looking at the map this afternoon. I rang and you were out!!! I can't believe it! I thought you were always sitting by the phone awaiting a call from your Number 1 special daughter!!! And Nana! shopping in asda and Wilko's when her 1st and best grand daughter was ringing to speak to her. Terrible. I will try again. I did think about ringing this morning but it would have been 1am in England and I didn't think you'd appreciate the very early morning call. Well, we finally saw a shark. It got to the point where I was actually praying to see one. I think Sig would have cried if we'd have come away wihtout the sight of a great white. His moment of glory came at about 2.00 pm yesterday when we were snorkling back to the boat. A 1.5 m grey reef shark swam underneath us. Sig grabbed on to my friend Susan shouting "Vic! Shark!!!!" I looked on from behind them thinking 'what on earth is he doing to Susan? and then I saw them point and the brown trail from Sig pants......that could mean only 1 thing........SHARK!!!! We had a great day aboard an old pearl lugger boat. The crew were amazing and so friendly. There were only 20 of us on the boat and the crew made such an effort to talk to you and they always remembered your name. Sig even helped the crew raise the sails!!! It was a real hands on experience. Out tonight with thre hostel where we are staying. Should be good fun. Not planned abything for tomorrow as I think we might need some recovery time. Just going to go down to the lagoon and do some swimming and sunbathing. Sounds like you had a great time with John and Delores. And the gammon sounds great. I am now over my food cravings. Now we are in Oz all the food is fairly normal. I did enjoy and loved the thai food but you can only eat so much rice and noodles. Susan brought out some PERCY PIGS with her from M & S and I helped her eat them yesterday!!! yum scrum. well, must be off. I think they're waiting for me. Take care and love you lots. Hi Katie, sounds like your having a whale of a time in Kos. You won't want to go home! I told you it'd be ace. Now you need to save up or another adventure. You'd love it here, apart from the spiders. If you pay us we'll come out here again and we could drive you round in a camper. Yesterday we went sailing on a boat that used to be a pearl lugger. It was fantastic and we went snorkling out on to the reef. We saw a SHARK!!!! 1.5m!!!!! It was a grey reef shark so harmless (I think). We also saw a blue spotted stingray and NEMO and his family!!!! we also went to Upolu cay which is a small sand island with nothing on and in the middle of the ocean. The water was so clear and it was paradise. Just boked our bus ticket and will be making our way down the East coast on wednesday. Just planning our first stop so will be looking at the map. Tonight is a big night. We are staying at a place called the Asylum (and yes, it lives up to its name). The Asylum is a backacker hostel and every Monday they have a big party night. 10$ for free wine, a meal, a t shirt, pub crawl with 6 free drinks and free internet for a week! what a bargain. Will try and get some pictures on for you again soon. We have taken so many it will be hard to choose which ones. How was the market in Turkey? good? Must go. Hi Charlotte, Glad to hear you only have a few exams left. Don't get a job in England and come out here and meet us! We have a great job in mind for you. We need someone with determination and strength to meet us in Peru and carry our bags as we do the Inca Trail.....pay is good (3 lima's and a bag of rice). How does that sound? Only just discovered your website, so i've got a lot of catching up to do! So glad to hear you are both safe and having fun. Really liked the elephant pictures. Not had time to read it all properly yet.
We are still here in London, working hard building chemical plants and designing roads.
My sister is now a married lady, the wedding was great, everything went well, the weather was gorgeous and dave did very well with his speech!
Other than that things here are pretty normal!
Well enjoy the rest of your time in Austrailia, i will now be keeping up to date with your travels.

Hi kids glad to hear your in Australia, I feel a lot happier now. Gday to all our Australian readers, Im please to see you all contributing. Hope you are going to get a chance to go toad racing, it was a good night; Im trying to remember what your mothers toad was called, fat something, she seemed to like kissing it anyway. I hope you appreciate the effort Im putting into this typing with one finger is very slow. We had a family day out today (Saturday) and all went to B&Q and all disagreed on what we should buy, so nothings changed there. Its now Sunday teatime, Mothers at work and I have had a very pleasant trip to JTF, wondered around the power tool section for half an hour and bought numerous tools, which Im sure will come in useful. Sorry we missed you when you called. We were trying to drag nan out of Asda & Wilkos. We had a night out with the neighbours last night. Went to the Stilton Cheese in Somerby, near Melton Mowbray. Don't want to make you food homesick again but mum went for the gammon with mozzerrella cheese melted into it....looked, smelled & tasted great. No egg or pineapple required for that dish! Poached Scottish salmon for me. I was really pleased with my choice til I saw mums monster meal. When you get to Sigs family's home let us know the number & we'll call you. Can't wait to see your next batch of photies. Get them loaded on as soon as you can & we'll try to sort some wedding snaps out to send to you. Must feed nan now.....she's getting restless & scary.........a bit like Louise's 'Tales of the wilderness'.......................we weren't worried about you at all. Love Mum, Dad & Nan xxxx

just read the messages and gathered that you guys have heard of our very shy and bashful steve irwin well maybe you can get his autograph as he has australia zoo near rebecca's, would be good to go all aussie animals, croc feeding shows and all that, let us know what you would like to do down hear as we have thought of some things such as going to see the fairy penguins, amanda has the week off before you fly out and even if you want to do things yourself we can organise that too, let us know, have fun, dont forget about magnetic island.

Hi vic, i've only just found out that you were traveling, your mum gave me the website. I've just spent about an hour catching up on what you have been doing theres just so much to look at, not even looked at all the photos as there are so many but will get round to it. Glad you are having a good time. I go away next thursday to zante for two weeks so can't wait to get some hot sunny weather even tho it said on the internet there is going to be thunder storms on friday i'm hoping they have got that wrong. hello from sunny KOS! in a beach bar called jacksons at the moment. its so hot here i had to get in the shade and thought id get on and drop you a line! Having a great time here! been trying to catch up on ur progress guys, its lookin good. we've made lots of friends here. Its the quietest start to a season they have ever had, so everyone knows us! The bar we are in a the moment belongs to a guy called tony and he has offered jobs next summer! made friends with a guy from australia called brian and today we went to lunch and the owner has lived in leeds and worked in the italian near the Victoria Quarter! What a small world! Really miss you both now but glad to see that you are both having such a great time! me being in Kos means we are probably the closest we will be together for a couple of months!
