26th April 2005 - CHIANG MAI Arrived in Chiang Mai and leave the hustle and bustle of Bangkok behind us. The guest house we are staying at is very basic but clean despite the eggy smelling shower. Explore the city today and come across another temple. This time there are buddiost statues from Thailand, Burma and China. We saw some monks playing by the river. It was quite nice. The wind picked up and we thought we were in for a storm so took refuge in the Chiang Mai Saloon. We had a great night and made lots of friends. The rain didn't actually come in end but the beers did! we met a guy called Jeremy from America and he insisted we call him Cobi Bryant! We made the mistake of ringing the bar bell which means you have to buy everyone at the bar a drink. Whoops - we will learn!
