Vic & Sig's Adventure 2005 - Bluefootedboobie !!
Wow - New Zealand!
Firstly we've got to thank all our friends and Releo's in Aus. We had a totally amazing time. We did everything you could do around Melbourne and Geelong. The Rialto Viewing Platform (highest building in Melbourne), the Casino, Rainforest Skywalk, Phillip Island and it's Seal's and Fairy Penguins, and a Aussie Rules Footy game Geelong V's Melbourne. A thrilling one point game 99 - 100, which included us running onto the pitch afterwards! And not forgetting a Amazing day trip down the Great Ocean Road - viewing the 12 Apostles on the way (only 8 remaining now as another fell down just the other week ago)
During our time Staying with Louise and Metamucel Brett some strong bonds were formed. None stronger than Coopers and Vic's friendship!! They we're inseparable. Even to the extreme that I was told I had to wait outside while Victoria was changing and that whilst on the toilet she was often visited and one time even offered a tomato! Friends don't come better than that! We, especially Vic, are missing you guys!
Well back on the road and a short flight to New Zealand! Dreading hostel life again after the luxuries of home comforts we bit the bullet and got a camper van straight from the airport! After stocking up with pasta and sauce once more we drove into the night to a town called Geraldine and camped up on the side of the road in a picnic spot, something which is allowed here but not in Aus. When we woke we were amazed. The darkness had gone leaving us totally surrounded by huge snow capped mountains! The whole of the next day we were in ore! This place is UMBELIEVEABLE! Every turn gives you a totally different postcard view!
We're in Queenstown now, Middle earth from lord of the rings, it's amazing and looks even more AMAZING from 12000 feet!
That's right my big mouth came back to haunt me as I wittered to Vic "I'm gonna do a skydive", "Yer right go on then woose" was her reply. I went into the skydive shop to enquire about the price, availability and to look like I was macho. Unfortunatly the idiot behind the desk said "No Worries - you can go in ten minutes if you like" Whoops!
3 Hours later I'm back on earth - it was amazing! So Amazing! Not at all scary and such an unbelievable experience! Ok I've got to go shower and change my underwear now but they were getting smelly anyway :) I did get a little more worried and said a little prayer when the two other people doing the sky dive were called Alison and Lucy, thinking you'd come to say goodbye!
Well it's back on the road today after a fergburger and a look at the Ice bar (literally made totally out of ice) Wanaka's next then further south. This place is stunning and we want to see as much as possible!
Love to everyone and thanks again for all the messages, emails and photo's from the wedding - they look fantastic! And a congratulations to Oliver and Liz!
Take Care,
Gandolf and Smegil!
