Vic & Sig's Adventure 2005 - Bluefootedboobie !!
Hello everyone, so sorry for not updating this site sooner. We're currently in Howlong, New South Wales, Staying with Ellen and Rudolph (AKA: Richard) and having an excellent time!!!!!!!
Our Australia travels are quickly comming to an end - BOO We're gutted. Last night we we're treated to a night out in Howlong town. Pokies, Keno, VB at the golf club and a few ports on our return! We had an excellent time thanks to our hosts (and maybe the port)
Before Howlong was Sydney. 4 days of beautiful winter sunshine although the nights did get a little cold. We stayed at 'The Pink House' kings cross - suprisingly a hetrosexual venue dispite it's name. Day one we saw all the sites and snapped more than the Japanise. We must have walked round Sydney twice (well that's how our feet felt when we slipped off our thongs) Tired, Thirsty and needing a hearty meal we went where else but a Susi Bar. After a few rounds of baby squid we headed home, luckly passing the golden arches on the way! - Good old McDonalds!
Next Day was Bondi Beach and a BEAUTIFUL 2hr walk round to Coogee. Having read an artical on Adrian Morley (ex Leeds Rhino's player and leg end) and finding out his local we went on a stalking mission! Didn't find him but softened the blow with a meal out - the first since the 'Funds' crisis back in Airlie.
Before Sydney was Byron Bay and Surfers Paradise, each for a few days.
The two places are so different - Surfers = Huge, High Rise, Shops, Party and Bondi = Small, Unique and really chilled, loved them both in different ways.
Caught the start of the film festival in Brisbane, including a short film competition. Stayed in a couple of 'interesting' places, including one which had about 30 bunk beds in one room and loads of water pipes comming through the roof. No matter what time of the day we went in there there were people snooring and toilets flushing - really relaxing, NOT!
The post office was Stunning in Bunderberg! - We had to go collect our bank cards for the Aussie bank account we'd opened. A brief tour of the second hand shops and the eating of randon cheese sandwiches (long story) meant we found Bundy more entertaining than we had feared.
The Fear had come from an excellent few weeks working on Great Kepple Island - where thanks to some new friends: Lee, Emma, Ange, Jeff and Co. We'd had the best time and really didn't want to leave. So many stories including an SAS mission to steal sand and a stint camping on a totally deserted island with a possum called Phil.
Well better go now as Richard the House Husband should have finished our washing by now and will be well on prepairing dinner. Oh this is the Life
Having an Excellent time: Thank you so Much to the Lions for their Hospitality and can't wait to get down to Melbourne to see Amanda, Louise, Brett and the rug rats. The Funny talkers are comming!
Hope everyone is well and thanks again for all the emails and messages that your sendning.
Lots of Love Sig and Vic xxx
Ps. and just one last thing: Tinned fish will keep forever! it's a fact! :) Thanks Richard!
