A day in Cádiz and a weekend in Jerez We kicked off the weekend by going on a day-trip to Cádiz, which is a short 45 minute train ride from Jerez. The train station here is beautiful - designed by Anibal Gonzalez who also designed the Plaza de España, which we saw and loved when we were in Seville. Arrived in Jerez Our move from Seville to Jerez, was one of the easiest that we’ve experienced. With bags in tow - and the train station only a walk away, we were off by noon to catch our pre-booked train. The regional train that runs every couple of hours from Seville to Cádiz, was great - with wide aisles and seats, lots of room for luggage and, on this day, relatively quiet - it took us just over an hour to reach Jerez de la Frontera. A Weekend in Seville We started our weekend with a walking tour - a great way to see Seville. The charming young man named Valentine, who led our group, was not only born here, but is studying for a doctorate on the city’s art and architectural history....the tour was free - with tips happily received at the end! For almost 2 1/2 hours he gave us an interesting history and insight into his city - all done with humour and enthusiasm - he obviously loves Sevil...
