The great Ballarat Cache Smackdown weekend from the 23 to 25 March 2012.

Stayed in Ballarat at Miners Retreat Motel, which was very comfortable and a great price. From home base we assaulted a 15 kn radius in the town. It was indeed a Smackdown, as we left very few caches unfound.

Started early from Tocumwal, doing 5 near lake eppalock before meeting up with Adrian ( trailrunning ) in Maryborough. From there to Kyenton, and beyond, cleaning up some of the 30 pre solved puzzles for the trip. Eventually got into Ballarat that evening, after meeting up with Dazrascal and Haveanez at the Bostoc resivour.

Some 30 caches found that night as well in Ballarat.

Saturday was the huge day with a combined total if 98 caches found on a town onslaught, which took us to west of Ballarat in the evening. Another night run that night for another 25 caches.

Sunday was the last day, with fewer finds, but some great caches found. Ended with a group photo at Falkirk, before parting company with Hz and Dazr. Me, Marty and Adrian then continued north with some great 4wd caches completed.

Awesome trip, had a lot of fun.
