Bob and Nicks excellent adventures
After the successful hitching experience we were/are back in Queenstown. After arriving and spending the evening sipping a couple of pints, action was needed. There were decisions to be made, these decisions involving acertain 440 foot bungy jump. Anyway, the decision was made that wed try and book the jump on the following day.
The following day arrived and we got out of bed at about 9-9.30 and seeked some advice about booking the jump for the same day. The woman at the YHA said we could book for the same day, but as it turned out, the only available slots were at 10am, giving us a full 20 mins to mentally prepare and get our arses to the bus on time! so we got our skates on and boopked in at the bungy shop.
It took about 40 mins to get to the bungy site ( Nevis Bungy), by which time we were s***ting it. It was so f***ing high!!!!!!!!
Travelling to the platform where you jump was bad enough, let alone jumping off the bloody thing. At first it didnt seem too high........but when the first guy jumped off he just seemed to be falling forever, which didnt help the nerves any!!!!
Bob went before me and he looked like he was bricking it, untilk he launched himself by a text book dive off of the platform. I was filming at the time and the only words that came to mind at the time were 'f***ing hell!' and the only thoughts were ' s***, ive really gotta do this now!'
So It was my turn to step up, and after a brief spell of s***ting it and telling the guide bloke i didnt think i could do it, the 3..2..1 came and I too launched off. BVob cant really remember the 4 second freefall, and all I can remember is the dive into nothingness. Scary s***, but a hardcore activity ticked off the list!!!!
The highest jump in New Zealand.... Take that!!!
