Hi well this is a short blog entry from Gornergrat, Switzerland. Thats near the Matterhorn, on the border between Switzerland and Italy. We hiked from a town called Zermatt, of course up hill for hours to get here. It was a beautiful day the day we decided to do it, although the next day the weather turned cold, foggy and rainy. That was about all the persuasion we needed to pack up the tent and leae for Italy.
From our campsite, all you had to do was stick your head out of the tent, and you had an incredible view of the Matterhorn. But 2 nights sleeping with all the clothes we own on was enough.
You actually have the option of catching a train all the way from Zermatt to Gornergrat, so of course there are plenty of wealthy tourists when you get there, and one of the latest additions seems to be the highest shopping mall (in the world??). But pride and budget didn't allow us to take this option, so we walked both ways. For future reference: the "Gornergrat 5" on the signs does not mean 5 km, it means 5 hours......
