Hi all!!!
Ok we managed to c heck into a much nicer place for less money!! SWEET!!!
This place has a pool and is only about and extra 2 min walk out of town. So we were gonna head for the beach but when we got there each place has it's own sun loungers and the beach is sooo small even when the tide was coming in some of the sun loungers actually stood in the water. So we headed back up to the pool where we just chilled out. We've noticed that there are not many English people here but it is really popular with the Isralies, Russians and Germans. We went for a stroll that night triend some more local Thai food - which is all lush by the way and cheap we ate dinner one night for 5quid for both of us!!
Day 2 again we just chilled by the pool trying to work on the tans!! Then we went out for some dinner although that night we didnt get any. Paul wanted to watch the football by the time that finished it was late and he was drunk and I was tipsy, we met a couple on holidays and we were just chatting to them for ages about the other islands and where to stay. Not sure if we'll here from them again as Paul went on about the biggest sin of getting a birds name tattoed on youself and the guy spent the beginning bit of the night saying he had his wifes name on his foot which the Thais find well funny as she is called Sara and Sara is a brand of paracetamol!!
Day 3 we went on a tour of Koh Samui, it really is a beautiful place. We started up at a look out point so you could see the island, then we went to Grandmother and Grandfather. We did really look at the leaflet so we didn't know what we were in for, these are rocks in the shape if ladies and males genitalia!! we read the leaflet after and these is said to be from an old love story where a couple lost their lives in a storm and there love was then represented as these rocks. We saw a monkey show whcish was more like them showing us how they work with monkeys, they are on a rope and they climb up the tree and pull down the coconuts for them then they come back down, they said they are all treated well and they work for food. We got to hold one of them, they have very soft hands which i was not expecting. We also stopped off to see a mumified monk!!! yes apparently this guy turned to Buddism late in life but he took to it well and he even predited hios own death and when he knew it was his time to pass he sat cross legged and he still sits in this poosition, although now they have put some sunglasses on him as his eyes have fallen out and they said he is quite scary to look at without them!!! Then we went to a waterfall you could get an elephant ride up or hike up, funds not permitting we hiked, it was very very hot!! and they never told us you could swim in it other wise we would have brought our trunks!! After this we were tken to a town which is the same as every oter street you go down here. Then we went to the Big Budda, this is a new one as the Tsunami wiped out the last one. Last we went to a temple which was nice, they are building a new one which looks very grand and shiney!!
Tomorrow we head for Koh Pagn gan. Tom mailed us and said you can stay at Coral Bungalows for 500 BAHT a night which is with air con - get in!!! (this is like a tenna)
Hope all is well, Loe to all.
