I'm back!!!

Well he wasn't joking about the early start!! However we did get free breakfast twice GET IN!!

We got to the ticket place and we were split into 2 groups one going to the south rim and one to the west. The peeps going to the west rim were told they would be back for 6:30 and we thought ah that's not to bad, we were then told we'd get back around 9:30 - 10!! Long day indeed.

So we headed off on the bus and it was a long drive the same distance as it would be to drive straight to L.A. we made afew snack stops, we then went to some place where most people watched a film me and Paul sat in the sun and ate free Pizza.

OK so we got on the bus again and made our first stop at Mathers Point our first glimps a the Grand Canyon and all I can say it is actually bretahtaking. You can't even put into words how amazing it is, you just can't imagine it. We got some great photos (again I promise we will upload some as soon as we can). At Mathers Point (named after the first Park ranger of the National Park there) it is the deepest point of the Canyon (1 mile). We walked along it for abit and there was a point you could climb out onto that had no barriers on it so we went for it!! Very scary in places (not dangerous though don't panick mums).

We got back on the bus to go to our next stop Bright Angel Point this is the widest point of the Canyon (18 miles), again very impressive although this was better for the wildlife. There are rock squirrels (Sarah I wanted to buy you one but Paul said buying food for ourselves was more important!!), we saw a lizard and aparently the Canyon is known for the Condor a gigantic bird with a 10ft wing span, we didn't get close enough to take a photo (Keira we needed one of your cameras to get that shot!!) but there was a park ranger there who had a telescope set up on one so you could see it really well.

We once again headed back to the bus for our 5 hour drive back to our little motel resembling something from a cheesy american film or program I'm thinking My name is Earl. Once again we had an early start as we had to pick up our Grayhound tickets by 7am so we got up extra early so we could get a days worth of free breakfast!!

There was this poor girl on the floor of the grayhound station she said she always partys with her friends here but the all went home and the next thing she knew the police had woken her up and she didn't know where she was!! ARGH never mind she got on her bus ok although a little worse for wear!

So on the Grayhound we got and San Diego here we come!!!
