Hey, we've left Sydney behind and have been on the road for 2 days. First night we stayed in Canberra which involved a tour of the city and visiting the federal buildings and war museum. Quite an active night that involved us being awoken at midnight (yes we were in bed at midnight! - had to get up at 6am) by a fire alarm and we had to vacate the building in our pj's. But, the firemen came which was very interesting!!!! Next day we moved on to a cattle farm in a place called Gelantipy which is in the middle of nowhere. It was beautiful. When we got there we did a spot of horseriding, then we had a 4 course home cooked dinner, bloody lovely but not as good as our mums (got to keep them sweet!) as we didn't get any yorkshires with our roast. After dinner we went on a night nature trail (in a bus cos it was cold and wet) but we saw Kangaroos, Possums, Wallabys, Wombats and a teeny tiny Koala. The other amazing thing about the place is the sky is so clear, you would never see stars like we saw at home - almost magical! You can stay and work at the farm and they give you free board and food, is very tempting but we are busy girls on a schedule. Yesterday arrived in Melbourne (on the way here we went to a winery - had a scone and a cuppa - don't like wine at 9.30am despite what you may hear) quite a pretty city. Went for a walk around yesterday afternoon before meeting up with our fellow bus travellers for what was supposed to be a quiet social drink, but we didn't get in until 4 or 5 or was it 6, not sure but the sun hadn't risen. Today, we got up and had breakfast at 3pm! It's really tiring this travelling lark. Tonight we are planning to go to St Kilda which is South Melbourne where the beach is and tomorrow we are going to Phillip Island to see some fairy penguins, seals and if we see anything else we'll let you know. We are in Melbourne until Tuesday morning when we will be making our way towards Adelaide (with 2 stops on the way). Have got some pictures of Canberra, Gelantipy and Melbourne but we will put them on when we get to Adelaide, so keep an eye out. Missing you all Deb and Ju x
