Today is Jills birthday and what an amazing way to celebrate!!!! We were picked up at 7 am from the hotel and taken to jasper train station...... The Rocky Mountaineer Train was awaiting. The youngsters headed off at 6.30am this morning for a sunrise canoe trip whilst the olds were booked on a tour of the Maligne Lake departing around 8.30am. A very rough nights sleep on the train last night, but yet again Andrea (in the minority) slept through it! We have had our first view of the Rockies at midday today, spectacular! We are enjoying our last hour on the train with breathtaking scenery before our arrival in Jasper :-) Arrived at approx 2pm to a gorgeous sunny afternoon. Much better nights sleep had by all. It rook a night to get used to the movement of the train I think. Had a 3 hour stop over in Winnipeg. Paul went into the railway museum for a look around. The ladies (and Andrea) had a walk around the Forks Market. We set off at about 12, only 26 hours till Jasper, where Daddy Beaumont awaits! Scenery has changed from forests and lakes to the prairie.
