We were picked up by coach at 7.20am to continue our adventure on the Rocky Mountaineer.
We were not too disappointed to be leaving Kamloops and it's tacky entertainment show behind!!!
The second day on the Rocky Mountaineer was just as wonderful as the previous day. Food was excellent and the scenery changed dramatically to a gorge and a rapid like river.
Dave and Paul had breakfast with a british couple, the chap was recognisable to the whole train by his manscaped white beard and tuft of back combed chest hair protruding above his top shirt button (which grossed Andrea out, did this man know nothing about waxing???) their main topic of conversation consisted of health and safety and immigrants!!!!! They also had an interesting lunch chatting to a retired BA pilot whose father was killed by the japanese in hong kong in the second world war. Should any blog readers be in the area, the said BA pilots father is named Bliss and is burrows in Stanley war cemetery. If anyone is still awake after this story please read on.......The ladies were glad they were not on that table!!!!
When we arrived In Vancouver the staff announced both Pam and Jills birthdays and gave them each a book as a souvenir.
We then arrived at the Pacific Rim Fairmont hotel at approx 7.30pm.
This hotel is the best anyone in the party had ever stayed at, it is pure luxury and includes a tv in the bathroom mirror!!! Completely unnecessary but a novelty none the less :-)
