Nov 21/09 We Rode out of the city with a bit of a late start. I somehow slept through the alarm which never happens. Oh well, we were underway at about 8.45 which was not bad considering. Nov 20/09 We cheated today and took a bus back from where we came. Nothing like burning up all those days of hill climbing in a mere 9-hour bus ride back to Marrakech! We decided to head back up here and explore some flatter parts instead of retracing our steps back. There really wasn't a great way to loop around from there in such a short time. Bonjour! We left the big city this morning and it was really not all that bad. Trying to follow the map did involve going the wrong way down a narrow little street but we were not the only ones to do so. Predictably the traffic thinned out the further we went but even on the outskirts of town it was not all that bad. The traffic is incredibly polite. Trucks of course get the most respect since they are bigger, but even they often waited until it was safe to pass ...

Marrakech has been quite a bit of fun. I was expecting it to be ridiculously touristy but in spite of the tons of tourists here it is really nice. The main square and markets are a blast to wander through. They sell just about everything and there is action everywhere you turn. The smells of spices and incense usually cover any of the not-so-pleasant odors that are in every city. There is very little chance of us going hungry here. The food has been fantastic....

My quest to cycle tour on all of the non-frozen continents is well under way. The last remaining continent is one of my favourites, Africa. This time I will head north of the Sahara and check out Morocco
