Today was a magnificent sunny day. After I hung out my washing, I hit the tourist traps in time for coffee and cake at Killynaught overlooking the ocean and fields of poppies. I visited the auto museum at the Wonders of Wynyard tourist information centre. I paid my $8 and received my own personal tour of the exhibits by a volunteer called Bevan. The exhibits were an eye opener, being 20 or so beautifully restored cars from 1900 to 1920, including several fords...

It's raining here today. It has been dry and today's series of showers has been very welcome. Sitting here with my friends in the hills, it has been delightful watching the rain moving across the valley. The showers started to clear in the afternoon so I took off for some more sightseeing. Table Cape is a high headland just north of Wynyard and offers magnificent views to the south almost to Launceston.

Based in Wynyard now, I took off today for a lap to the west coast and back. The Edge of the World is a wind blown spot on the west coast at the mouth of the Arthur River, near the top end of the Tarkine Wilderness. Off to Bicheno today, starting with a nice fish lunch, and then on to Natureworld to scare the local wildlife.

We headed off from St Helen's this morning to explore some places in NE Tasmania I hadn't been to before, in a 200 km round trip. First stop was Eddystone Point with its lighthouse and coastal views, on the east coast north of St Helen's. Then to Tomahawk on the north coast, a veritable holiday shack heaven.
