Have had a week of islands, a couple of days on Koh Tao and now a few days on Koh Samui. Koh Tao is quiet, with a lot of scuba diving but it was cold and wet when i was there, Koh Samui has not had the best weather either, but it is back in the 30s, and as a massive tourist destination there is a lot to do. Yesterday we rented a truck and went to a monkey, elephant and crocodile show where you could play football with the elephants, and watch a strange thai man put his head in a crocodiles mouth! There was an 80 foot waterfall close by where we went swimming in the pool at the bottom. We visited the rocks grandmother and granfather, naturally shaped like genitalia and ate at the local markets. The beach here is beautiful and my bungalow is right on it, next to the swimming pool! Its a hard life on the island! Koh Samui is more expensive than anywhere else in Thailand, but has a great night life and lots to do. We went to a caberet show one night that was amazing, all ladyboys, at the end one of them came out in full costume, and sang 'i did it my way' whilst changing back into a suit and taking make up and wig off, was so funny! The number of ladyboys here is phenomenal and they hang around trying to prey on every man, even if they are with wife and kids they will proposition them! Last night we went to the cinema inside Tescos to see Transformers 2 and then drank at the VW bar- a VW campervan turned into a bar! Still very overcast today-not what i wanted from a tropical island!
