My final day in Vietnam, i did a trip to the Cu Chi tunnels. On the way we stopped at a factory that employs people handicapped by the effects of agent orange to produce handicrafts. The tunnels were really interesting although i was only half way through my book about them! Had a nice last day in Nha Trang met up with some people i had met in Hoi An and went to the beach again. Had a pretty chilled day but gave into a few of the sellers. Managed to get ambushed 12 times in 7 minutes and got some bargains! We all went for dinner at a lovely place where i had a triple burger with pineapple and cheese, very Vietnamese! The sleeper bus to Nha Trang turned out to be 'boken' so they rocked up with a regular bus! Spent 14 hours on it but luckily we all got two seats. Only westerners on the bus and it was ok! Nha Trang is your typical beach resort, if you squint you could be in Europe. The town is comprtised of hotels and restauraunts and the beach is full of people trying to get your money. My last day in Hanoi was great, i visited the Ho Chi Minh museum where i saw the north Vietnamese side of the war to balance the literature i had read and i visited his house on stilits. i went to the Temple of Literature, a large temple and grounds that was also used as the first university in Vietnam and had a lot of interesting features. I arrived in Hanoi after a 23 hour bus journey which was not nearly as bad as i expected! Managed to get two seats and curl up for a couple of hours. We passed through the border around 7am then arrived in Hanoi in the evening. Haoi is a crazy city, even more so than Bangkok with so many motorbikes its uneral and they all feel a constant need to honk! To cross the road you have to just walk out and hope they swerve because there are no points for them to stop!...
