Better internet now!!

We had a very busy day in Hue seeing as we were only there for one full day. Woke up without a stiff neck!! Its a novelty for me, but the pillow was great! We walked to the river and over the bridge to a lake/pond that has a folklore attached. Apparently a giant turtle is said to reside in the lake and guard a precious and magical golden sword. There is more to it and its all in the guide book, but thats the jist of it. The last sighting of the turtle was in 2006, and unfortunately we didnt see it either! Then on towards the Forbidden Purple City, there is a lot of history attached, as there is with most places, buttoo much to write here. They are restoring most of it due to a massive fire in the 90's, but it was still impressive and opulent and you can imagine what it must have been like in its day. It was a bit of a taster for the massive Forbidden City in Beijing.

Went to a small cafe for lunch, i had noodles with squid and veg and Claire had meat fried rice, was ok but nothing special. Decided to go back to the hotel for a while as the sun had come out, but the pool was in the shade and never got the sun, silly place to put it, but we sunbathed a bit on our balcony and read a bit while we rested our feet. When the sun disappeared behind the building we went out for a walk to a market, not a big one, but always good. A woman wanted $95 for the thinnest gold chain for my St Christopher, so i declined, dont know how it could have been that expensive, maybe she was trying to scam us!

Ate at the 'Friends Cafe' another recommended in the Lonely Planet. The walls are covered in messages from travellers from all over the wolrd, but it was quite early so there wasnt anyone in! The food was good though, i had meat fried rice and Claire had spring rolls. Came back to hotel and finally managed to check emails, but the PC was useless as when you typed it changed some letters into other characters... all very odd and annoying!

Went back to room and had a bath, there wasnt a lot of hot water, but it was nice after not having one for a while and soothed my aching feet and shoulders! Its been lovely weather today, it tends to be cooler in the morning and evening, but when the sun gets out its really lovely!
