Finally after more than 30 hours travelling i have arrived in Ho Chi Minh City. The flight landed early, but took over an hour to go through Immigration and Baggage claim, think the manchester bags must have got on first and were therefore offloaded last! The flight was another good one, managed to have a bit of a kip. Came out of the airport and was hit by a wall of warm, its very hot and humid, but not unbearable. The fella from the tour company was waiting for me with a sign along with about 50 others, all with signs!! His name was Wong and he and a driver brought me to the hotel. Hai Long 1 - 56-58 Pham Hong Thai Street. Apparently its in a good place for a massive market in the middle of the city. Took about 40 mins through a sea of bikes and scooters and constant horns sounding! It is exactly like you might imagine, really manic with neon signs everywhere. Hotel is nice, will be changing room tomorrow when Claire arrives. The hotel has a restaurant so will probably eat in there for breakie. Wong told me that Pho 24 is good for the signiture noodle dish. So thats all for today, i shouldnt feel the time difference as it is forward not back. Feeling a bit lonely as i have seen one western face since i arrived!
