Hey everyone!
Just a quick update as I have just had a couple of days in Noosa!
Noosa is a pretty nice chill out place and quite posh as well!! I stayed in a nice hostel nearby which had free breakfasts- bacon and egg sarnies!! Haven't had that since I left England so definitely a treat!! Had a nice chill out afternoon once we got there, spent sitting by pool sunbathing until the dreaded clouds came over!!
In the evening, we had a few card games with some other people that had got the hostel bus with us!! I had managed to get a cheap steak from the supermarket so treated myself to that as well!!
The next morning 4 of us decided to get some kayaks and head down the river!! Our hostel lets you rent them for free so we got a double and 2 singles and headed out!! They are really heavy to carry but luckily we were less than 100m from the jetty!! After struggling to get in them, we eventually set off without getting too wet!! We headed up the river to the still-er water where fewer boats go!! We went round a huge circle where all the multi-million houses were!! Some of them were amazing, with boats, jet skis, kayaks, pools out the back!! Its definitely a good life in Noosa!! We managed to go down a couple of dead ends though and decided that river should have a better sign-age system!! It was hard work on your arms though so we were only out for a few hours!!
Also, I needed to head back for my surf lesson!! Luckily had time for a quick lunch and then got picked up!! There were 6 of us in the lesson, although we did have one bratty kid!! Stayed away from him!! After a quick safety briefing and a demonstartion on the beach, we headed into the water, at first just to practise step one, which is basically just to have your hadn flat on the board and lift your chest up as high as possible!! After a couple of gos, we popped back to the beach to learn steps 2 and 3 which basically get you to the main standing position and then it was straight out to give it a go!! After a couple of waves, I managed to stand up!!!!!!!!! Admittedly not for long, especially as I go excited and forgot to bend my knees so just toppled over!! The waves were pretty good in Noosa although they can be pretty strong which is annoying when you are trying to get back out!! I got hit by the board once and have a lovely blue bruise on my leg now!! It was a two- hour lesson and I managed to stand up a few times and definitely fell off or rolled over plenty more times!! Overall it was a really good afternoon and good fun!! Safe to say after all that, the arms and shoulders are very sore this morning!!
Yday evening we had another chill out night at the hostel with some card games and then one of the guys brought out a giant jenga game!! It was very funny and it actually went on a lot longer than I thought it would!! This morning I headed down to Mooloolaba which is only about 30mins south so here for 2 nights and will be heading to the Steve Irwin Zoo tomorrow so will update again then!!
Sending lots of surfing love
