So Day 2 turned out to be pretty busy! Firstly, not happy that I can't upload pics on this hostels computer as I took loads today but will let you know when I eventually get them up!
Had breakfast in the hostel and the sun was already out!! We were out of the hotel by 10am and decided to walk down to the Marina Bay as pretty much everywhere is walking distance! We headed to the Singapore Eye, however, after chatting to the receptionist last night decided against actually going on it! instead we went to one of the tallest hotels. Its basically 3 towers with a boat balancing across all 3! (this is where i need the pictures to do it justice!) Non-guests of the hotel can pay to go up to the top for as long as they want, only downside is you have to watch all the actual guest using the pool! The views were amazing, you could see for miles and all across the skyscrapers!! Have some brilliant photos! The best bit was that the pool that we weren't allowed to use was at the edge of the building! We stayed up there for about 2 hours but could have stayed for the whole day!
We then headed to a statue called the Merlion. Apparently its THE statue of Singapore and is a lions head on top a fish;s body with water coming out the mouth into the marina! Aagain got some brilliant pictures, but it was alot smaller than we expected!
By this time we were pretty hungry so we went to a market, that again we were advised to try. It was pretty big with seating in the middle and basically loads of stalls all around the outside selling different types of foods! Talk about being spoilt for choice! Had a lovely chicken and rice and it was pretty cheap as well!
Finally we headed to Chinatown! With all the Chinese New Year celebrations coming to an end, it was still very busy! Full of market shops with the usual tourist stuff plus extra things with a chinese twist, and plenty of eating places and tables in the street! It was really lovely and exactly what you would imagine a stereotypical chinese street to be like :)
Wwe finally trekked home about 5pm and have just been chilling on the rooftop terrace since! Its been amazingly hot today, with the sun coming out quite a lot! Also very muggy though and its getting pretty cloudy now! Hoping to see the sunset tonight from the rooftop but not sure if the clouds will let us! In other words, you can keep your rain for now please :)
Must go, its getting dark so gonna head back up! Tried to get some pics of the skyline in the dark last night and they weren't great so hopefully some half-dark ones will work :)
Sending lots of love across the world :)
