Right, well that's Vienna done, now on our train to Budapest, think I could live in that beautiful city though, it's so sophisticated & cultured, a little like ourselves I'm sure you'll agree!!!! Stayed in a great hotel beside the main transport centre so we had 3 day passes & we were able to travel around freely ( when we had spare time which wasn't often), we were kept so busy visiting monasteries & palaces & touring the town. We had a great guide who was really entertaining & proud of her city, can't say I blame her, the buildings & churches are stunning & the people dress so well, we certainly felt so scruffy by comparison. Apparently Austria is 11th most wealthy country in the world, university education is free to all EU residents & for anyone outside the EU it's less than E2000 per year & I think that includes all your books etc. the only drawback I can see is that all subjects would be presented in German otherwise it's a great alternative to a huge student loan in NZ. We got our share of culture also by attending a concert in St Stephens cathedral one night which was pretty ho hum & had trouble staying awake but the classical concert the next night which was organised by grassroots was really great, lovely music, singers & light ballet in a lovely palace setting. It was so nice to have time out for meals & socialising with the rest of the group, a very memorable few days, when we're really wealthy we'll come back here & rent an apartment for a month or two & I'll be able to shop at leisure in Tiffanys, Gucci, Dior, etc at my leisure. Just over the border now & in Hungary so will back again in a couple of days. Our love to you all xxxxx
