Loving Rio!!

Been here 7 days for carnival and it has just been amazing. The people are lovely, the atmosphere is crazy and we have just partied none stop for the whole week. We did manage to go see Christ the Redeemer. It is fabulous, the views and the size of the statue. Well worth the visit. PLus the food is so good. Lots of meat and pastries and cakes, need to diet in Australasia!!

Most nights just went to street parties, where there was music and you just danced with everyone and anyone. The men were very, very friendly with amazing bodies, but were just too pushy for us independent English girls!! You literally had to shove them off you and stamp your feet at them. But it was all done with a smile.

The wine in South America is unbelievable, we had rare beef last night on a sizzling platter so you could leave it on till it was cooked how you like it. It was so good with the house wine. I was in heaven.

The locals have been amazing, no crime at all, although we have been very careful.

We went to the Samberdrome for the official carnival, which was out of this world. THe colours and floats and outfits were just fabulous. So bright and colourful and we were all dancing and singing!! Everyone should come to Rio.

Weather has been on and off. Still managed to get a tan though, so most brazilians are thinking I am brazilian before English!!

Off to Argentina tonight, heard their steaks are good!!
