Got the 7 hour bus to Rockie on the 29th at lunchtime, sunbathed in Hervey bay in the morning was 35 at 10am! Roasting. Upon getting to Rockie which is famous for steak we got ready to go for dinner only to be told that everywhere stopped serving at 8pm! Riducluos, had to get a pizza instead but we did have our own room with air con which was much needed! Excuse the koala....no pics of this place!

Arrived in Nooas at lunchtime on monday and took the bus down too Sunshine beach. Was really beautifull huge beach with white sands and hardly anyone on it! Priya and shell had a go at boggie boarding which they said was fun but the waves were really strong so jen and I stuck to the sunbathing. Arrived in Brisbane sat lunch time and headed done to the shops...again...whoops!! Bought a new top for the eve and some thongs..flip flops! Then went down to southbank which is a man made lagoon and beach. Bit strange having that in a city but was nice to cool off in the water, was 35 degrees. Arrived at Surfers, loads of high rises feels a bit americian. Chilled on the beach for the day it was roasting and the waves are huge!! Really lovely beach though, see photo.. In the eve we went on the gold coast backpacker club crawl. Was good night went to 3 clubs and got 5 free drinks and met lots of people, although did feel a bit like a sheep being ussered on everywhere and told what to do!hehe, maybe i'm getting to old for this. After another long bus journey arrived at Byron Bay at 9pm on saturday. Staying in a place called the Arts Factory which used to be a real hippy place and still has that feel to it. Unfortunately we got put in this shed like place with lots of SPIDERS.
