Sabadee to you all,
We've arrived in the capital, a moment we were sceptical about. Capital cities aren't our thing, we prefer the beach. Yet again, it's been a bit of a disappointment. It's about as big as Taunton & as busy as Salisbury. There are only 2 points of interest in the city guide, a museum, which we visited & an 'Arc de Triumphe' replica that is dubbed the vertical runway for reasons I'll leave you to research!
One night was definitely enough so we are booked onto a sleeper bus that takes us to the southern most point of Laos - Si Phan Don, which translates to Four Thousand Islands. It's a 14 hour minimum journey but should be worth it judging by other travellers blogs & stories. We plan to stay on an island called Don Dhet.
Can I just add, for those of you that are interested - we had a curry last night that could be rivalled by no-one. I'm talking Tamarind times ten!!! Plus it was that cheap you could probably fly out here & your overall bill would be less damaging to your wallet! Just ignore the roaches.
Once we get WiFi again we'll update, chances are we will be in Cambodia by then.
Thanks for reading another uneventful blog, Matt & Carly. X
