After a quick shopping trip to Surfers (where we took in the great views of the coast from the observation deck of the worlds tallest residential building, Q1 Building), we head south to Byron Bay. Now Byron, like Phi Phi in Thaliand, is a place where the young and beautiful come to see and be seen. Once again, I was waiting for the Ugly Police to come along and tell us to "move along....we don't want your kind around here" but it never happened!!(I can see now why the town is famous for it's hippies. It has nothing to do love, peace, music or whatever - these crusty-looking old men are just here to purve at all the gorgeous girls!I've been looking at properties to buy there ever since.......)! ;o)We took a day trip to Mt Warning - the remenants of a once huge volcano. It was a long old climb to the top (the last section involved clambouring over rocks, holding on desperately to a chain rope) but the views where certainly worth it (oh and I got stung by something....thought it could have been dangerous....panicked for a while)!
