Ben's Travel Journal
A day trip from Osaka - it looked very uninspiring when we first arrived, but after walking east from the train station for a few minutes things greatly improved. There is basically a huge wooded park that contains dozens of shrines and temples (and 100's of deer)! Ignoring the fact that it was a Sunday (and therefore every Japanese family within a 50 mile radius was there), we had quite a peaceful day wondering around looking at the temples and laughing whenever a deer scared a small child!
It wasn't long before we started suffering from temple overload, but we did get to see the largest wooden building in the world (Daibutsu-den Hall) which was very impressive (another 'world's biggest......" for Japan)!
